Review of Coratherapy Treatment of Suture scars at Rodam Cheonan Branch

Hello, this is Dr. Kwangil Paeng from Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic, Cheonan branch.
Today, I would like to introduce a case of a man in his 20s who got injured while exercising.
He had stitches on his cheek, and the scar left a dented mark in the shape of the stitches,
so he visited our clinic for treatment.

For this patient, the treatment was conducted at intervals of approximately 2 to 4 weeks,
and a total of 9 sessions were completed.

There were several large and long scars from the lower left cheek to the jaw.
Since the scars were deep, the treatment involved slightly deeper needle stimulation.

Case :: Stitched Surgical Scars

History :: No prior scar treatment experience

Report :: Coratherapy conducted 9 times

After the 2nd Coratherapy session

This is the appearance after the 2nd session.
The lower part of the ㄱ-shaped scar at the top shows some improvement.
The long horizontal scars on the jaw appear more pronounced due to the redness caused by the treatment,
but this does not mean the scars have deepened.
It is simply due to the redness, so there is no need for concern.

After the 6th Coratherapy session

This is the appearance after the 6th session.
The deeper parts have filled in, and the scars have significantly faded.
In general, areas around the mouth tend to regenerate more slowly
because they move frequently during talking or eating.

In such cases, using a regeneration band to stabilize the area
can be helpful. For this patient, we recommended
applying a regeneration band for a week after the treatment.

After the 9th Coratherapy session

This is the appearance about 2 and a half months after completing the 9th session.
The redness has significantly subsided over time,
and while the horizontal scar next to the mouth still shows some boundaries,
the overall condition has improved greatly.
The depth has noticeably filled in, and the scars have reduced in size.
This demonstrates that scars from stitches can also be effectively treated.

Anyone with dented scars can safely undergo this treatment.

I hope today’s post has helped ease your concerns about dented scars.
