Acne Scar Coratherapy Treatment at Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic Review

Hello, this is Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic, the beginning of Coratherapy for scar removal.
Today’s case is about acne scars.

The patient is a woman in her 20s who had undergone multiple sessions of dot peeling and subcision
but did not see any improvement and visited Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic.

Case :: Acne scars on both cheeks

History :: Previous experience with dot peeling and subcision

Report :: 5 sessions of Coratherapy on both cheeks

Subcision and Coratherapy are procedures that use needles and have similarities,
but while subcision uses thicker needles to cut through the fibers in the dermis layer
and spread them out broadly, Coratherapy uses thinner needles compared to subcision
to treat the shape and depth of individual scars.
It cuts the fibers and promotes skin regeneration,
allowing new skin to fill in, which is the key difference.

The patient had acne scars on both cheeks.
The left cheek showed more widespread scars with boxcar and ice pick types.
The right cheek had scars concentrated around the cheekbone area,
and similarly, boxcar and ice pick scars were present.

The patient was particularly concerned about the clustered scars on the right cheek.
Before starting the treatment, we explained the changes expected
based on the shape and depth of the scars and then began the procedure.

After 5 sessions of Coratherapy

This is a photo after 5 sessions of treatment. First, the left cheek.
Overall, the edges of the boxcar scars have softened.
The base of the ice pick scars has risen, significantly reducing their depth.

The right cheek shows more noticeable changes.
The scars clustered around the cheekbone area have risen significantly.
The previously sharp and deep edges of the boxcar scars
and the ice pick scars have also risen, appearing much smoother.

Today’s case highlights two points.
First, the difference between subcision and Coratherapy, as mentioned earlier.
While both use needles, even if subcision has not been effective,
significant improvement can be achieved with Coratherapy.

Second, the patient mentioned during the treatment
that makeup was easier to apply and provided better coverage.
When acne scars are present, makeup often clumps or emphasizes uneven skin texture.
As treatment progresses, many patients share feedback
that applying makeup becomes easier.
For patients who don’t usually wear makeup,
I often recommend trying it during the treatment process
to better notice the changes in their scars.

Today, we introduced a case of acne scars.
Many patients visit us due to acne scars,
often after not seeing results from treatments at other clinics.
As shown, Coratherapy can effectively regenerate skin and achieve significant improvement.

We hope today’s post helped ease some concerns about acne scars.
