Hello, this is Dr. Sangyeob Lee from Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic Suwon Branch.
Today, I will explain a case of acne scars in an adult male patient.
The scars are located on both cheeks, which is the most typical area.
This patient had previously undergone numerous treatments at dermatology clinics,
to the extent that there was hardly any procedure he had not tried.
However, the effects of the treatments were minimal, leading to distrust in the treatment itself.
Therefore, for this case, we planned to proceed with Coratherapy, observing the effects of each session gradually
before continuing the treatment.

Case :: Acne scars on both cheeks
History :: Depressed scars formed after acne during adolescence
Detail :: Despite trying various treatments such as Fraxel,
the patient did not feel any improvement, leading to a lack of trust in treatments.
Coratherapy was performed with long intervals to monitor progress.
Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic’s systematic acne scar treatment method, Coratherapy,
focuses on skin regeneration and scar improvement.
This treatment helps regenerate damaged skin tissue,
filling and smoothing out deeply depressed areas of the skin effectively.
The patient underwent a total of 7 sessions of Coratherapy.

After 3 sessions of Coratherapy

Let’s take a look at the photos after 3 sessions.
Even considering the remaining redness,
the depth of the scars, except for the ice-pick scar in the center of the face,
has significantly reduced.
Additionally, the scars on the right cheek have greatly improved.
They have become so similar to the surrounding smaller scars that there is hardly any noticeable difference.

After 7 sessions of Coratherapy

Let’s take a look at the photos after 7 sessions.
After completing the 7th session, the patient wanted to see the results after the redness subsided,
so we proceeded with VSM. The patient returned three months after the last session,
and the photos show a significant reduction in redness.
The ice-pick scar in the center of the face has faded significantly, leaving only slight traces,
and the scars on the sides of the face, which were relatively wide,
now blend well with the surrounding normal skin.
Smaller scars have improved to the point where they are no longer noticeable.

Acne scars are one of the common skin problems that many people face.
Although it is difficult to achieve perfect results in a short period,
consistent management with Coratherapy can bring about significant improvements.
What I want to share today is that the more distinct and prominent the shape of the scar,
the more dramatic the improvement when it gets better,
making it resemble normal skin the most.
There is always a solution if you do not give up on scar treatment.
I hope today’s post helps alleviate some of your concerns about acne scars.
