Hello, this is Dr. Hyunki Cho from Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic, Busan Branch, specializing in scar removal.
More and more people are choosing Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic’s Coratherapy to treat various indented scars such as acne scars, chickenpox scars, and surgical scars.
However, compared to other procedures, there are still fewer people who are well-informed about it.
In particular, many are curious about the treatment intervals.
So today, I would like to explain what Coratherapy is and the recommended intervals for the treatment.

What is Coratherapy?
Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic’s Coratherapy originated in 2006 under the name “Skin Regeneration Magician Cafe” and
was officially trademarked as “Coratherapy” in 2007.
Coratherapy is an abbreviation for “Collagen Regeneration Acupuncture,”
emphasizing its focus on collagen regeneration in the dermal layer of the skin.
In particular, Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic’s Coratherapy does not simply stimulate the scar with needles.
Instead, it uses specially designed “incision needles”
to perform a customized “cross-needling technique”
based on the type, length, width, depth, and regenerative ability of the patient’s skin scars.
Because the treatment is as detailed as sculpting scars,
it is effective for treating various indented scars such as acne scars, chickenpox scars, and surgical scars.
It does not use artificial drugs but instead relies on the skin’s regenerative power
to fill in new skin tissue, ensuring that the treated area does not sink or revert over time,
maintaining the effects.
This Coratherapy typically has a treatment interval of two weeks,
which has raised many questions that I will address one by one.

10 sessions every 2 weeks vs. 10 sessions every few months
Many people wonder which is more effective: receiving 10 sessions every 2 weeks intensively or every few months.
To conclude, a 2-week interval is the minimum recommended interval for Coratherapy,
and extending the interval slightly longer is not a significant issue.
However, if the interval is too long (e.g., every few months),
the flow of skin regeneration may be disrupted, making it difficult to expect continuous effects.
Therefore, it is ideal to receive treatments consistently every 2–4 weeks.
If you have the time, it is best to follow a regular schedule.
If the interval is too short, the skin may not have enough time to recover, so a minimum interval of 2 weeks should be maintained.

When there are multiple localized scars, individual treatment vs. overall treatment
If there are multiple localized scars,
it is generally recommended to treat the entire area at once.
Coratherapy can treat large areas in a single session,
and overall treatment ensures that skin regeneration occurs evenly,
improving skin tone and texture uniformly for more natural results.
Of course, depending on the condition and size of the scars, individual treatment may be necessary,
so it is important to create a customized plan through consultation.

Will receiving treatment every 10 days reduce its effectiveness?
Many people ask if it is okay to receive treatment every 10 days due to time constraints.
It is not entirely prohibited, but since Coratherapy is a treatment that induces skin regeneration,
receiving treatments at intervals that are too short may not allow the skin to recover fully, reducing effectiveness.
This is why a minimum interval of 2 weeks, and typically 3–4 weeks, is recommended.
Since recovery speed can vary depending on the skin condition,
it is important to adjust the intervals while monitoring the skin condition before and after the treatment.

Consistency is key in Coratherapy.
Setting intervals that suit your situation and working with an experienced professional
to continuously monitor your skin condition is crucial.
