Review of Coratherapy Treatment for Scar from Nail Scratch at Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic

Hello, this is Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic, starting your journey to erase scars with Coratherapy.
When researching scars, you may have come across discussions about areas where scars heal relatively well and areas where recovery may be slower.

So, do scars in areas with slower recovery always take a long time to treat?
Not necessarily.
Even scars in areas like the nose, glabella, or philtrum, which may recover more slowly, can sometimes heal quickly depending on the shape or cause of the scar.
Today, we will explain this through a specific case.

Case :: Scar from a fingernail scratch

History :: No prior treatment experience

Report :: 9 sessions of Coratherapy

The patient is a woman in her 20s who visited us after a scar from a fingernail scratch two weeks ago remained.
The scar was located next to the philtrum, an area where recovery can be slower.
However, the shape of the scar was manageable, and since treatment began before the scar fully settled, the results were effective in this case.

Looking at the pre-treatment photo,
a 1.5cm long indented scar can be seen on the side of the nose and philtrum.
Red marks from the wound were still visible,
and the upper part of the scar was slightly deeper than the lower part.
Additionally, there were areas where the scar overlapped with pores.
In such cases, as the scar fills in,
the pores naturally settle back into place.

The next photo is after the third session.
Before the treatment, the scar had a distinct indentation along its edges.
After three sessions, the edges became less noticeable, and the base of the scar filled in, leaving only a slight unevenness.

The photo after the sixth session shows that most of the unevenness seen after the third session has been filled in.
From this point, the focus of the treatment shifted to addressing minor indentations that were not easily visible in photos and ensuring the treated area became as smooth as possible.

The final photo after the ninth session shows that while there are no dramatic changes, the scar and its surrounding area appear increasingly natural.
By addressing these detailed aspects, the treated area becomes more natural and satisfying by the end of the treatment.

Additionally, the pores that were indented along with the scar before the treatment have settled back into place and now blend well with the surrounding pores.

In summary, today’s case involved a scar near the philtrum,
an area that typically shows slower progress compared to areas like the cheeks or temples.
However, since the patient visited us before the scar fully settled and the shape of the scar was manageable, we were able to complete the treatment in nine sessions.

As shown, the progress of treatment can vary depending on the area, the shape of the scar, individual skin characteristics, and the timing of the treatment.
