Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic Suwon Branch introduces Coratherapy and compatible treatments: Botox, Skin Booster, Toning, Laser.

Hello, this is Dr. Sangyeop Lee from Rodam Korean Medicine Clinic Suwon Branch, specializing in removing scars.
Among those who visit us for Coratherapy treatment, many wish to combine it with other procedures such as Botox, skin boosters, toning, lasers, and more.
As a result, we often receive many questions about this during consultations.
Today, I would like to address some of the frequently asked questions and explain which procedures can be combined with Coratherapy.

Is it okay to combine Coratherapy with Botox?

Botox restricts muscle movement, while Coratherapy focuses on collagen production and skin regeneration.
Therefore, Botox does not negatively affect the results of Coratherapy.
Even if the treatment areas overlap, Botox can help facilitate scar regeneration by limiting movement in the Coratherapy treatment area.
However, since Botox can temporarily make the skin sensitive depending on the area, it is best to consult with your medical professional before proceeding.

Can Coratherapy be combined with toning or skin boosters?

Toning and skin boosters can be combined with Coratherapy.
Toning is effective in improving skin tone and reducing pigmentation,
while skin boosters supply moisture and nutrients to the skin, making it hydrated and elastic.
When combined with Coratherapy, you can achieve even better results.
However, it is important to adjust the sequence and intervals of the procedures when performing them together.
For skin boosters, the injected areas often become slightly raised.
If these areas overlap with the Coratherapy treatment areas,
it can be challenging to accurately identify the depressed areas, making the procedure difficult.
Therefore, it is recommended to avoid the Coratherapy treatment areas when receiving skin booster injections
or to space out the two procedures.

Is it okay to combine Coratherapy with ablative/non-ablative lasers?

Ablative lasers remove the skin’s surface to promote new skin regeneration.
Since Coratherapy also promotes skin regeneration,
receiving both treatments simultaneously can overstimulate the skin.
Therefore, if you wish to combine ablative laser treatments with Coratherapy,
it is recommended to leave at least a two-week interval between the procedures.
Non-ablative lasers deliver energy deep into the skin to stimulate collagen production.
When combined with Coratherapy, it can enhance skin regeneration effects.
However, similar to ablative lasers, non-ablative lasers can also irritate the skin depending on the type of laser used.
It is recommended to leave at least a one-week interval between the procedures.

Can vascular lasers be combined?

Vascular lasers target capillaries in the skin and are generally used to reduce redness.
Combining vascular lasers with Coratherapy does not pose significant issues.
However, Coratherapy requires at least three treatments on the same scar area
to achieve visible results.
Even if redness is reduced after receiving vascular laser treatment,
redness may reappear during subsequent Coratherapy sessions.
Therefore, vascular laser treatments are not recommended during the Coratherapy process.
Once the Coratherapy treatment is complete, it is advisable to wait 3–4 days
before receiving vascular laser treatments.

Today, I provided information about procedures that can be combined with Coratherapy.
However, the above information is based on general cases and does not take into account individual skin conditions.
